With nearly 20 years of experience in real estate brokerage, investment, development, and construction management, Jamie Pell knows the weight of a hammer, how to read a blueprint, and whether or not it's worthwhile to pursue that master bathroom addition or landscape project prior to selling your home or investment property.
In 2012, after 9 years of operating his own firm, Jamie joined Bay Area Properties as Broker Associate to assist the company in managing the increasing volume of investor and developer business. Jamie's strong background in all facets of real estate allows him to effectively assist our clients in making key decisions, such as whether to hold or sell their properties, which improvements are truly value added investments, and how best to market newly developed or renovated properties.
Prior to joining Bay Area Properties Jamie was Broker/Owner at Pell Investments, a diversified real estate services company that provided consulting and brokerage services to a select clientele. Founded in 2003 Pell Investments provided support to large and small real estate investors advising them on a wide array of issues from financial feasibility and profitability to construction to marketing and beyond.
From 1997 through 2003, Jamie served as Senior Analyst and Asset Manager for Fremont Properties LP, a business line of the Fremont Group, which is an affiliate of the Bechtel Corporation. He provided support for Fremont’s acquisition, disposition, and real estate development activities as well as asset management of selected portfolio properties. Notable projects included 199 Fremont Street, a 400,000 square foot office building in downtown San Francisco; One and Two Washingtonian Centers, an approximately 600,000 square foot office complex in Gaithersburg, Maryland; and 1130 Connecticut Avenue, a 290,000 square foot office building in downtown Washington, DC. Jamie also managed Fremont Properties’s portfolio of ranch and recreational properties located in California and Idaho.
In November 1993, Jamie joined McCormack Properties Ltd. as Financial Analyst and was responsible for project budgeting, investment cash flow, and return analysis. He analyzed proposed debt and equity structures for McCormack’s development portfolio, which totaled nearly $1 billion. Projects included Harbor Court, a 30-story, mixed-use office and residential condominium project located in downtown Honolulu and The Palms at Wailea, a 270-unit resort residential condominium project and Palauea Bay Partners, a 740-acre golf community development project, both located on the island of Maui.
Jamie holds a Master of Real Estate Development Degree (1993) and a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning
(1992) from The University of Southern California.
